Saigon Heat - Tigers 98-81 The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Vietnamese Heat as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Heat defeated 8th ranked Thailand Tigers in Saigon 98-81. Heat dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tigers' 38. American power forward Jeremy Combs (201-1995, college: Texas Southern) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Evan Gilyard II (178-1998, college: UMKC) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Augustus Stone (193, college: St.Thomas, FL) replied with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kittitep Dasom (179-1996) added 18 points in the effort for Tigers. Five Heat and four Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Heat have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with NS Matrix. Tigers at the other side stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Tigers will play next round against Valientes trying to get back on the winning streak. Heat will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked HK Eastern in Hong Kong. They outrebounded Louvre S. 45-20 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) who scored that evening 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Amir Williams (211-1992, college: Ohio St.) supported him with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four NS Matrix players scored in double figures. NS Matrix's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by American-Indonesian Jamarr Johnson (198-1988, college: Widener) did not help to save the game for Louvre S.. American Marcus Hammonds (196-1987, college: TAMUCC) added 18 points for the guests. NS Matrix have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending Malaysian champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Saigon Heat. Louvre S. lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with eight games lost. NS Matrix will meet at home bottom-ranked Tigers (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Louvre S. will have a break next round. HK Eastern will play against league's leader Heat in Saigon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Singapore S. will play on the road against Macau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
